The instant petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the service rendered by the petitioners as 'SPO' as qualifying service for the purpose of seniority for the post of Constable and all other consequential benefits.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the case of the petitioners is squarely covered by various judgments of this Court including judgment rendered in CWP-9936-2017 titled as Sukhjeet Singh and others Vs. The State of Punjab and others and judgment rendered in CWP-5648-2017 titled as Sukhmander Singh and others Vs. The State of Punjab and others. 3.

In view of the aforesaid submission, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - The Director General of Police, Punjab, to consider and dispose of legal notice dated 11.4.2022 (Annexure P-11) in accordance with law and the settled position of law expeditiously preferably within a period of 3 months from today.

A copy of this order along with copy of legal notice dated 11.4.2022 (Annexure P-11) be sent to respondent No.2 - The Director General of Police, Punjab for necessary compliance.
