Present writ petition is for grant of pay for the higher post assigned to the petitioner, which was performed by him as shown in Annexure P1 and also the retiral benefits on the basis thereof. Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that the matter in controversy is squarely covered by the ratio of judgments rendered by the co-ordinate Benches of this Court in Jagjit Singh and Ors. v. State of Punjab and Ors. (CWP-17358-2015, decided on 09.09.2016) and Sukhdev Singh and Others v. State of Punjab and Another (CWP-9125-2014, decided on 09.01.2018), respectively.
