The petition under Section 226/227 of Constitution of India seeks following reliefs:
(i) direction to respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect life and liberty of the petitioners from private respondents; (ii) direction to respondent No. 2 to consider and decide representation dated 18.05.2026 (Annexure P-7). Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that on 06.05.2026 and 15.05.2026, private respondents entered house of the petitioners, abused, man-handled them and caused them injuries Petitioners were medico legally examined vide MLRs Annexure P-3, P-5 and P-6. In this regard, a representation dated 18.05.2026 (Annexure P-7) was moved to Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural), District Amritsar, Punjab but no action was taken on the same. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that at this stage, petitioners would be satisfied if appropriate direction is issued to the respondent No. 2- Senior Superintendent AJAY GOSWAMI 2026.06.03 18:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRWP-6609-2026 (O&M) 2 of Police, Amritsar (Rural), District Amritsar, Punjab to consider and decide representation dated 18.05.2026 (Annexure P-7) moved by petitioners and take necessary action thereupon in a time bound manner.
Notice of motion to official respondents only. Mr. Akash Yadav, AAG Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents and submits that enquiry on petitioner's representation was underway and the needful would be done in due course.
Keeping in view the limited prayer made by petitioner, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural), District Amritsar, Punjab to decide the aforesaid representation dated 18.05.2026 (Annexure P-7) submitted by petitioners within a period of one month from today by passing a reasoned and speaking order in accordance with law and take necessary action, if so required.
However, if, respondent No.2 does not find any substance in the allegations levelled in the representation (Annexure P-7), the petitioner shall be informed as per mandate of law.
