The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 read with Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent-bank to release retiral dues amounting to Rs. 1.5 Lakh alongwith interest.

On 22.04.2024, the following order was passed by this Court:- The dispute in the present petition is confined to release of Rs.1.5 lacs and interest thereon. The respondent vide order dated 09.01.2024 was directed to clarify its position with respect to outstanding amount and interest payable thereon. The matter thereafter was listed on 01.02.2024. Keeping in view the amount involved and rate of interest claimed and disputed, the respondents are directed to pay undisputed amount i.e. Rs.1.5 lacs along with interest @7.5% before the adjourned date. Mr. Sumit Batra, Advocate submits that respondent-bank has paid a sum of Rs. 1.5 lakh alongwith interest @ 7.5% per annum for the period from 21.10.2013 to 30.06.2022 to the petitioner. The bank within two weeks from today would further pay interest @ 7.5% on the aforesaid amount for the period from 01.04.2012 to 20.10.2013. 4.
In the wake of statement of counsel for the respondent-bank, the petition stands disposed of.
