Mr. Pankaj Maini, Advocate for the petitioner. *** G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The petitioner seeks the relief of consideration for appointment to the post of Constable on compassionate basis in lieu of death of her father on 10.12.2011.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's father was working as Assistant Sub Inspector with respondent no.3, who has died on 10.12.2011. The application for grant of appointment on compassionate basis was moved immediately on 17.12.2011 (Annexure P/3) and report was also given regarding the certificate of legal heirs dated 7.3.2012 (Annexure P/4). The said legal heirs have also given their no objection and the affidavits were appended with the representation dated 11.5.2015 (Annexure P/5). In spite of the same no action has been taken on the said representation.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent no.3 to decide the said representation dated 11.5.2015 (Annexure P/5) within some fixed time frame. Notice of motion.

Mr. R.S.Sidhu, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents. Copies of the writ petition have been supplied to him.

Civil Writ Petition No.722 of 2016 -2Keeping in view the limited relief sought by the petitioner, this Court is of the opinion that there is no requirement of calling for any reply on behalf of the State.

Accordingly, without commenting upon the merits of the case the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no.3 to take into consideration the said representations dated 17.12.2011 (Annexure P/3) and dated 11.5.2015 (Annexure P/5) and pass an appropriate order in accordance with instructions of the State within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. In case any adverse order is to be passed then a reasoned order be passed by the said respondent and be conveyed to the petitioner. The present writ petition is disposed off with the aforesaid directions.
