The petitioner has filed the instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ of certiorari for quashing the appointment of respondent No.6, who has been appointed as Sewadar in the Improvement Trust, Faridkot by ignoring the petitioner despite being eligible. 2.

On the last date of hearing i.e. 01.07.2026, the following order was passed :- "On receipt of advance copy of the petition, Mr. Rohit Ahuja, D.A.G., Punjab has put in appearance and submits that the instant petition is liable to be dismissed on account of delay and laches as the selection/appointment process made in the year 2002 has been challenged after expiry of a period of 24 years.

Faced with this situation, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks an adjournment to get instructions. Adjourned to 03.07.2026."
