MANJARI NEHRU KAUL , J. (ORAL) The petitioners are seeking issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to take appropriate legal action against respondents No.4 to 6 by registering an FIR against them for causing injuries to the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that despite a complaint having been made to the police with respect to an occurrence dated 06.05.2024, wherein the petitioners were assaulted by the private respondents, the official respondents have been sitting over the matter and have till date, not registered an FIR against the private respondent. In support of his submissions that petitioners had sustained injuries in the occurrence in question, learned counsel has drawn the attention of this Court to Annexures P-1 to P-3, which are the Medico Legal Reports dated 07.05.2024 of the petitioners.

After arguing for some time, learned counsel submits that the petitioners would be satisfied if directions are issued to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Ludhiana Rural, to PUNEET SACHDEVA 2024.08.02 17:40 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CRM-M-37204-2024 -2look into the representation dated 21.05.2024 (Annexure P-6) of the petitioners and take appropriate steps in accordance with law. 4.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Navdeep Singh, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents.

In the wake of the limited prayer of the petitioners, the instant petition is disposed of and respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, Ludhiana Rural, is directed to look into the grievance of the petitioners and take appropriate steps at the earliest, if any required, under the provisions of law. However, if respondent No.2 does not find any substance in the allegations levelled in the representation dated 21.05.2024 (Annexure P-6), then the petitioners shall be duly informed as per the parameters laid down by the Supreme Court in Lalita Kumari v. Government of Uttar Pradesh & Ors. 2013 (4) RCR (Criminal) 979.
