The petitioners before this Court stand convicted by the Criminal Court under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. 2.

Through this writ petition, the petitioners pray for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus to release/grant them the pension, gratuity and the other permissible benefits. Admittedly, the petitioners were dismissed from service.

In the writ petition, the petitioners have relied upon the Rule 2.2

(2) of the Punjab Civil Services Rules Volume-II which only relates to the matter of recoveries. The learned counsel representing the petitioners fails to draw the attention of the Court to any provision in the service rules or policy instructions entitling the petitioners to claim the relief prayed for in this writ petition.
