(ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for directing the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner from the hands of private respondents. Short reply dated 11.12.2020 by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kurukshetra, filed in the Registry, is taken on record. As per reply, after investigation it was found that petitioner Jyoti has been residing in friendly relations with her friend, namely, Abhishek and there is no danger to life from respondents No. 4 to 7. The statements of the petitioner, respondents No. 4 and 5 i.e. her parents and respondents No. 6 and 7 have been recorded which are placed on record as Annexures R-1 to R-5.
A perusal of the statement of the petitioner shows that she had left the house and has been living with Abhishek and she has no threat perceptions from her family members. Moreover, she has further stated that she is not GURPREET SINGH 2021.01.
CRWP No. 9978 of 2020 -2willing to take any action regarding protection. Keeping in view the above, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the present petition has become infructuous and the same may be disposed of accordingly.
