The instant petition has been filed by the petitioners for directions to the respondents No.1 to 3 to protect their life and liberty from the respondents No.4 to 7.

The learned counsel representing the petitioners submits that the petitioners have filed a representation dated 01.06.2026 (Annexure P-5) before the respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka. The learned counsel prays for directions to the respondents No.1 to 3 to decide the abovementioned representation within a stipulated time. 3.
Notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 3 only. 4.
Since advance notice has already been served upon the State, Mr. I.P.S. Sabharwal, DAG, Punjab, has appeared on behalf of respondent-State. Hence, service of notice upon the State is hereby dispensed with. 5.

CRWP No.6668 of 2026 (O&M) hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to decide the representation of the petitioners (Annexure P-5) by passing a speaking order within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of copy of instant order. 6.
It is further directed that the petitioners shall be provided adequate safety and security to protect their life and liberty, if required. It is, however, clarified that any observation is not being made by this Court with regard to threat perception to the petitioners or the validity of the marriage of the petitioners. The police authority of District Fazilka shall be at liberty to make an independent assessment with regard to threat perception to the petitioners, and take a decision on the issue of providing adequate security to them.
