Learned counsel for the petitioner has inter alia argued that the petitioner was facing trial in the case in question and was on bail; that the said trial was fixed for hearing on 29.01.2026; that on the said date, the petitioner could not appear before the trial Court as Clerk of his counsel had noted down a wrong date of hearing; that when the petitioner came to appear before the said Court on 27.03.2026, the date told to him by the said Clerk, he came to know that bail and surety bonds furnished by and on his behalf have been cancelled and his arrest warrants have been issued for 07.04.2026; that since arrest warrants had been issued against the petitioner, he did not appear on 07.04.2026; that now the matter in question stands adjourned to 05.06.2026 for appearance of the ANJU GOEL 2026.06.03 18:56 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M-32836-2026 (O&M) -2petitioner etc.; that no proceedings about declaration of the petitioner as a proclaimed person/proclaimed offender have till date been initiated against the petitioner; and that the petitioner undertakes to be careful in future and not to repeat such type of lapses again. 2.

Ms. Samdisha Kaur, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State of Punjab. She states that she does not intend to file status report in the matter as the facts are apparent from the record of the petition.

In view of the above-mentioned submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner but without commenting anything upon merits of the case lest it should prejudice any of the parties, the petitioner is directed to surrender before the Court concerned within a week from today and file an application for grant of bail during pendency of the trial. The bail application to be so filed by him within the said period shall be disposed of within a further period of seven day from the date of filing. However, it is ordered that till disposal of his bail application to be filed within the said period, arrest of the petitioner in the FIR/case in question shall remain stayed.

The petition is disposed off accordingly.
