Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the petitioners are aged 39 years and 43 years respectively; that the petitioner No.1 was earlier married to the respondent No.3; that out of her marriage with said respondent, three children were born who all are major, that two of them are even married whereas third one is living with his maternal uncle since childhood; that previously, the petitioner No.2 was also married with one Smt. Bholi who expired on 11.05.2021; that out of marriage of said petitioner with the said Bholi, three children were born who all are major two of whom are married; that they all are capable of managing their own affairs; that because of serious matrimonial discord and on account of physical/mental cruelty given to the petitioner No.1 by her previous husband, the said petitioner and her previous husband could not continue living together; that because of such circumstances, the petitioner No.1 was VISHNU 2026.06.02 16:31 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh
CRWP-6678-2026 -2compelled to live separately and ultimately in relationship with petitioner No.2; that coming to know about the said relationship, the respondents No.3 to 7 have started threatening life and liberty of the petitioners; and that representation Annexure P-3 dated 27.05.2026 of the petitioners moved before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Moga has till date not been decided.

Without commenting anything upon the validity or otherwise of the alleged relationship of the petitioners and also upon merits of the petition in question, since the petitioners apprehend danger to their life and liberty from the respondents No.3 to 7, the present petition, at this stage, is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to look into the representation Annexure P-3 and if the need be, ensure protection of life and liberty of the petitioners.
