*** JASWANT SINGH, J.(ORAL) Employees Union of a Cooperative Society is seeking a Mandamus to the Registrar, Cooperative Societies for deciding their representation dated 12.2.2015 (P.2).

It is apparent that the relief claimed is emerging from the order dated 13.8.2012 (P.1) passed in an arbitration matter between the Agricultural Service Societies and the Tarn Taran Central Cooperative Bank. It was asserted by the Agricultural Societies that a higher rate of interest in violation of the Instructions issued by the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab was being deducted by the Central Cooperative Bank, Tarn Taran qua the loans furnished to the Societies. The Arbitrator while disposing of the dispute had directed the Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Amritsar for inquiring into such allegations and in case, excess interest was being charged, the necessary action was to be taken. After arguing for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner prays for withdrawal of the petition with liberty to seek his remedy before

CWP No. 8425 of 2015 #2# the Registrar, at this stage since the representation has been recently made. The prayer being reasonable is liable to be accepted. Present petition is dismissed as withdrawn. However, it is hoped that the Registrar would take steps to ensure compliance of the orders passed by the Authorities under the Cooperative Act.
