Prayer in the instant petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent-authorities to channelize the water supply to the residence of the petitioners and its locality in Sector 21-C, Chandigarh. 2.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Sanjiv Ghai, Advocate accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.2 to 5 and after obtaining instructions from Mr. Ajay Malik, Sub-Divisional Engineer from Public Health Water Supply Division, Municipal Corporation, submits that the water supply to Sector 21-C was temporarily affected for some duration due to the necessary repair works being carried out. It is further submitted that duration of water supply is gradually being improved and is expected to return to normal levels shortly. In that view of the matter, petitioner No.1 himself and on behalf of petitioners No.2 & 3 seeks permission to withdraw the instant petition at this stage with liberty to approach the Court again, in case the grievance subsists.
