The petitioner has approached this Court claiming that acquisition of land owned by him has lapsed in view of Section 24(2) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (for short, 'the 2013 Act'). Notifications under Sections 4 and 6 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 were issued on 31.07.2006 and 09.08.2007, respectively. Award was announced by the Land Acquisition Collector on 22.07.2008. It is not in dispute that the petitioner has received the amount of compensation. To establish his possession it is sought to be claimed that a Samad has been constructed in portion of the land, however, pictures placed on record establish the same to be work done recently merely with a view to show that the petitioner is still in possession of the land. The statue set up is new and so the barbed wire. The writ petition is accordingly dismissed.
