Through the instant petition, prayer is made for issuance of mandamus upon the official respondents to hold the elections to the Governing Body of the Garhwal Sabha, Faridabad, bearing registration No. 00534 registered on 27.9.2013, under the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Societies Act, 2012.

Learned senior counsel for the petitioners submits that the elections were required to be held within six months from the date of appointment of Adhoc Committee/Administrator, which was appointed way back on 16.8.2019. However, till date, elections have not been conducted.

Learned State counsel, after having instructions from Himanshu Mor, Legal Assistant, Office of District Registrar of Socieites, Faridabad, informed this Court that, in fact, for the purpose of conducting elections, one Returning Officer, and two Assistant Returning Officers have been appointed on 19.2.2025, and the process of conducting elections will be completed within 8 weeks from today.

In view of the above specific stand taken by the learned State counsel, the asked for mandamus is not required to be passed. So far as second prayer is concerned, the petitioners are at liberty to raise the issue before the authority concerned by filing apt motion. 5.
