1. Whether Reporters of Local papers may be allowed to see the judgment?

2. To be referred to the Reporters or not?

3. Whether the judgment should be reported in the Digest? --- Surya Kant, J. (Oral) The petitioner challenges the order dated 06.04.2016 passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chandigarh Bench, vide which his Original Application seeking a direction to permit him to undergo training of one year at some National Institute of Sports, has been dismissed. The petitioner is working as a Sorting Assistant in the Postal Department. He claims himself to be an athlete, applied for permission to undergo training of one year at some National Institute of Sports. The Department declined his request and that order has been upheld by the Tribunal for the reasons that (i) the petitioner has not been appointed under the Sports quota; (ii) the Department never recommended his name for any sports event; (iii) it is not the condition of his service that he will be sent to undergo such like trainings at the expense of the Department; (iv) the MOHINDER KUMAR 2016.05.10 16:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CWP No.7854 of 2016 [2] request itself is quite vague as there is no "National Institute of Sports" nor any such Institute has sponsored the petitioner's name.

We have seen the certificates relied upon by the petitioner to claim himself an outstanding sports person. In our considered view, the reasons assigned by the Tribunal are fully justified and being based upon correct understanding of the material on record, the order(s) under challenge call(s) for no interference.

Dismissed.
