Learned counsel for the petitioner has filed the present petition seeking issuance of a writ of certiorari for quashing the show cause notice bearing Memo No. 7441 dated 06.05.2026 (Annexure P-8) and the order bearing No. 8185 dated 30.05.2026 (Annexure P-13), passed by respondent No. 2 under Section 36 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, being arbitrary, non-speaking, without jurisdiction and contrary to the provisions of law. 2.

The petitioner further seeks stay of operation of the order dated 30.05.2026 (Annexure P-13) during the pendency of the present petition and also seeks a restraint against respondent No. 2 from taking any coercive steps against the petitioner.

The petitioner further seeks issuance of a writ of mandamus directing respondent No. 2 to restore and permit continuation of the petitioner's KAMAL GANDHI 2026.06.12 15:06 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

After arguing for some time, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner prays for withdrawal of the present petition with liberty to avail alternative remedies available in accordance with law. 5.

Prayer is accepted.
