Prayer made in the writ petition is for grant of retiral benefits i.e. pension, leave encashment, gratuity, GIS and other service benefits along with interest at the rate of 18% per annum to the petitioner from the date of his superannuation on 30.04.2017.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that petitioner had made representation dated 05.06.2018 (Annexure P5) and thereafter, he got issued legal notice dated 04.09.2018 (Annexure P8), which were responded to by the respondents with the response that the matter has been referred to the higher authority for sanction. Learned counsel further contended that though petitioner retired from services on 30.04.2017, but even after the passing of more than 11⁄2 years, his retiral benefits have not been released to him.
