(Oral) This first petition has been filed under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, for seeking quashing of the order dated 21.05.2026 passed by the Additional Sessions Judge, Tarn Taran whereby the application preferred by the petitioner seeking permission to travel abroad i.e. Bali and Indonesia in a criminal trial bearing case No. PC/1/2025 arising out of F.I.R No. 0050 dated 06.11.2024 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, registered at Police Station Vigilance

-2Bureau Range, District Amritsar, has been dismissed. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was granted anticipatory bail by this Court vide order dated 29.04.2025 passed in CRM-M 61497 of 2024. He submits that after the grant of pre-arrest bail, the petitioner has complied with all conditions imposed upon him and is regularly appearing before the trial Court on each and every date of hearing. He submits that the petitioner has never misused the concession of pre-arrest bail. He submits that niece of the petitioner namely Harleen Sethi is getting married in Bali, Indonesia and Anand Karaj are scheduled to be performed on 11.07.2026.

He submits that being a close family member and only maternal uncle, the presence of the petitioner would be essential to perform the ceremonies and also for providing familial support. Reply/report on behalf of respondent-State has been filed in the Court today. A copy thereof has been supplied to the counsel for the petitioner. State counsel submits that the factum of marriage as aforesaid could not be verified as the marriage is scheduled to take place abroad. Having heard the learned counsel for the parties and going through the record, the petitioner is permitted to travel abroad to Bali and Indonesia for a period commencing w.e.f. 04.07.2026 to 12.07.2026 in order to enable him to attend the marriage of his niece namely Harleen Sethi.

He shall furnish information regarding the address where he would be available at Bali and Indonesia during the aforesaid period to trial Court before leaving India. The petitioner shall appear before the trial Court/Duty Magistrate on 14.07.2026 before 4:00 P.M to mark his presence.
