Mr. Nafeesh Ahmed, Advocate, for the petitioners ***** DEEPINDER SINGH NALWA, J.(Oral) The petitioners have filed present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for directing official respondents No.2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty from the hands of private respondents No. 4 to 10 and further to restrain the private respondents from interfering in their peaceful life.

It is submitted that both the petitioners are major. As per copy of Aadhaar Card of petitioner No.1 (Annexure P-1), his date of birth is 01.01.1997. On the other hand, as per affidavit of petitioner No.2 (Annexure P-2), she is about 25 years. They are in a live-in-relationship. Petitioners are receiving threats from respondents No. 4 to 10, who are family members of petitioner No.2, thus has filed the present petition. Petitioners have also moved a representation on 02.06.2026 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2Superintendent of Police, District Nuh-Mewat, through e-mail. 3.

On advance notice, Mr. Ravi Partap Singh, DAG, Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3-State. 5.

Considering the nature of litigation, no purpose would be served by serving notice to private respondents. 6.

I have considered facts narrated in the petition, according to which, both the petitioners are major and are in a live-in-relationship against the wishes of family members of petitioner No.2, as a result, they are apprehending threats from the hands of respondents No. 4 to 10. It is the duty of police to protect life and liberty of petitioners. Therefore, respondent No.2 is directed to consider representation of petitioners dated 02.06.2026 (Annexure P-3) and to take appropriate steps to protect life and liberty of petitioners from the hands of respondents No. 4 to 10, considering threat perception, with further direction to maintain their privacy and dignity. 7.

Aforesaid protection order will have no bearing on the legality of their relationship and it will not protect them, in case there is any violation of law or pending legal proceedings. 8.

The petition is accordingly disposed of.
