Petitioner is serving as a Driver on absorption being a surplus staff in District Ludhiana and remained posted with Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana. His request for change of cadre/District from Ludhiana to Pathankot was accepted and he was transferred vide order dated 27.07.2018 (P-1).

The grievance is that he is not being relieved to join at his assigned place of posting.

Upon notice, learned Additional Advocate General states that order dated 7.12.2018 has been passed by the Deputy Commissioner, Pathankot appointing the petitioner as Driver by way of transfer/absorption in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Pathankot;as also the petitioner has since been relieved from the office of Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana to join at his place of posting pursuant to the aforesaid order. CWP 27786/2018 In response, Mr.Manhas submits that petitioner is slated to join at Pathankot today.

In view of the aforesaid circumstances nothing more survives for adjudication and the writ petition is accordingly dismissed as infructuous.
