ANIL KSHETARPAL, J(Oral) The petitioners are working as teaching faculty in the Department of Medical Education, Punjab. They claim parity of house rent allowance on non-practicing allowance at par with the members of medical service, ayurvedic and homeopathic Doctors.

During the pendency of the writ petition, the aforesaid parity has been granted vide decision dated 03.05.2017. The petitioners claim that they should be restored parity from 01.12.2011, the date it was granted to their counter parts in the medical service.

Once a substantive relief has been granted to the petitioners, this Court does not find it appropriate to exercise writ jurisdiction. Moreover, the writ petition was filed in the year 2015. Disposed of accordingly.

The petitioners, if so advised, may avail alternative remedy. All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, are also disposed of.
