RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for directing respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondents No.4 to 17. It is further prayed to direct respondents No.2 and 3 to take appropriate action against respondents No.4 to 17.
Learned counsel for the petitioners has contended that respondents are unnecessarily harassing the petitioners. Notice of motion to official respondents only at this stage. On asking of the Court, Mr.Tarun Aggarwal, Sr.DAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State and submits that respondent No.4, Sukhwinder Singh, SHO, Police Station Sadar Ahmedgarh, Tehsil Ahmedgarh, District Malerkotla is present in Court in person. Respondent No.4 has apprised the Court that there are two MEENU 2024.08.13 16:45 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRWP-7736-2024 -2FIRs against the petitioners and for inquiry of the same, police has called the petitioners, however, they are not cooperating. He has further submitted that no harassment, as alleged, is being made to them. However, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have also filed a representation, Annexure P-18, before respondent No.2 on 05.07.2024, however no action has been taken on the same till today.
Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent no.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Malerkotla, to look into the representation (Annexure P-18) of the petitioners and decide the same in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within one month from today.
