This matter is being taken up for hearing through video conferencing due to the outbreak of pandemic, COVID-19.
This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner claiming him to be eligible for appointment as Extension Lecturer (History) in terms of policy dated 04.03.2020. It is submitted that work load was available, therefore, petitioner seeks adjustment in terms of the abovesaid policy. Learned counsel for the State had been directed to seek instructions in this respect. Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from Sh. Sukhwinder Singh, Deputy Director informs that workload for a period of six months i.e. from 17.12.2021 till 17.06.2022 only, is available and the petitioner can be appointed for this period.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in this view of the matter, this writ petition is rendered infructuous. Writ petition is disposed of accordingly. Needless to say, necessary action be taken by the respondents for appointing the petitioner for the abovesaid period expeditiously and preferably within one week of receipt of certified copy of this order.
