**** AMARJOT BHATTI J. (ORAL) The petitioner-Shakin Rani Alias Sheena Kaur has filed the instant petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. seeking anticipatory bail in FIR No. 114 dated 23.07.2022, under Sections 498-A, 406 of IPC, registered at Police Station Bullowal, District Hoshiarpur.

The facts of the case are that the complainant-Shehnaaz filed written complaint against her husband Sumit and another for maltreatment on account of demand of dowry. She alleged that her marriage was performed on 28.12.2018 with Sumit. Her parents had spent huge amount at the time of marriage. They had given gold ornaments, blankets, clothes and shagun. After few days of marriage her mother-in-law, husband and sister-in-law stared abusing her on small issues. She was taunted and ill-treated in the matrimonial home. In fact they wanted to kill her and she had filed a complaint to the Police Station Tigri in Delhi. She was not given sufficient food to eat. Her sister-in-law tried to kill her in June, 2021 by pushing her from terrace. Again she filed a complained to the police. CRM-M-40927-2022(O&M) -22023:PHHC:058616 family. She was taken back to her parental house. Ultimately, she filed the complaint and the present FIR was registered. Learned counsel for the petitioner argued that the petitioner is her mother-in-law. She is an old lady. The allegations levelled against her are false. She is ready to join the investigation. She was granted ad-interim bail vide order dated 08.09.2022. Learned counsel for the petitioner has also placed on record photocopy of compromise arrived at with the complainant dated 10.02.2023. It is prayed that the ad-interim bail already granted in her favour may be confirmed. Learned State counsel further confirmed this compromise and further alleged that the parties have filed joint petition for dissolution of marriage.

I have considered the arguments and have gone through the record. The aforesaid facts clearly indicates that the matter has been compromised. The petitioner has already joined the investigation. She is not required for any other purpose. Therefore, the ad-interim bail already granted in favour of the petitioner vide order dated 08.09.2022 stands confirmed subject to the conditions enshrined under Section 438(2) Cr.P.C.

The petition is accordingly accepted.
