(ORAL ) The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for a direction to respondent Nos.2 and 3, to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners with a further direction to private respondents not to interfere in the personal lives and liberty of the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that

both the petitioners are major and for that purpose he has referred to copy of of Aadhar Card of petitioner No.1 (Annexure P-1) and copy of Aadhar Card of petitioner No.2 (Annexure P-2). He has further referred to marriage certificate (Annexure P-3) showing that marriage has been solemnised on 2.12.2020 and also to Annexure P4 which is representation sent to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib, through registered post. Learned counsel for the petitioners has further submitted that both the petitioners have married according to their own wish and since the private respondents are opposed to the marriage of the petitioners, therefore, they are extending threats to the life and liberty of the petitioners. Notice of motion was issued in this case on 4.12.

2020 and today learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Bhag Chand, has submitted that statements of respondent Nos.4 and 5 have been recorded who have stated that they are not causing any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioners since the petitioners have got married as per their own wish. Learned counsel appearing for respondent Nos.4 and 5, has also stated that he has instructions to say that respondent Nos.4 and 5 will not pose any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioners. Be that as it may, it will be just and proper in case a direction is issued to look into the representation of the petitioners. Accordingly, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.

in accordance with law.

It is made clear that any observation made hereinabove does not mean anything regarding the validity of the marriage or any other subject matter apart from the protection of life and liberty of the petitioners. December 15, 2020.
