Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in case bearing FIR No.141 dated 11.08.2019 registered at Police Station Gate Hakima, Amritsar for the offence punishable under Section 21 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, Chanan Singh is the main accused. During investigation, he has named Robinpreet Singh as his co-accused, who is absconding. Petitioners are parents, wife, brother and sister-in-law of Robinpreet Singh. Police is unnecessarily harassing them to secure the arrest of Robinpreet Singh.
Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to move representation to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, Amritsar with regard to their alleged harassment, which on filing, will be looked into by him in accordance with law.
