(ORAL) Prayer in this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the BNSS, 2023 is for issuance of appropriate directions to the officials respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner from the hands of private respondents. 2.

Learned counsel contends that petitioner is the owner of land measuring 6 marla and inherited the same from his father. Adjoining portion of 6 marla was purchased by him in 2012. It is alleged that respondent No.4, who is a police employee, forcibly trespassed into the petitioner's possession. In this regard, a complaint was made against respondent No.4 to DGP, Punjab in November 2017, but no action was taken. Civil suit was then filed by the petitioner for possession and permanent injunction, which has been decreed in favour of the petitioner, in January 2020. That order has not been challenged till date by respondent No.4, but he is threatening the petitioner with his life and liberty. It is also submitted that representation dated 23.12.2025 (Annexure P2) and another representation dated 18.03.2026 (Annexure P3) were made to the Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, but no action has been taken so far.

In view of the submissions made, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to dispose of the representation dated 23.12.2025 (Annexure P2) and another representation dated 18.03.2026 (Annexure P3) within one month. It is further directed that in case any threat to the life and liberty to the petitioner is found, necessary protection be provided to him.
