JASGURPREET SINGH PURI , J. (ORAL ) The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. with a prayer to issue appropriate directions to respondent Nos.2 to 4 to file status report/decide representation Annexure P5 dated 24.11.2020, submitted by the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, at the outset, prays that he confines his prayer only to the limited extent of seeking directions to decide the representation Annexure P5 dated 24.11.2020 and does not

press any other prayer made in the present petition. He has further submitted that the petitioners have submitted representation (Annexure P5) to the Director General of Police, Punjab, with a copy to the IGP, Ludhiana Range and also to the SSP Ludhiana (Rural) that in view of the facts of the case appropriate action be taken against the private respondents and a fair inquiry be made in FIR No.102 of 3.11.2020. He has submitted that private respondents rather attacked the petitioners and wanted to grab their property and instead of lodging FIR against the private respondents, the police has lodged the FIR against the petitioners.

Notice of motion to respondent Nos.1 to 5, only at this stage.

On asking of the Court, Mr.Mehardeep Singh Dulat, Addl. A.G., Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of State and states that he has no objection in case prayer of the petitioners to a limited extent for deciding the representation (Annexure P5) is considered by the concerned authority. In view of above this Court is satisfied that without calling for the reply from the respondents in the present case, it will be just and proper to direct respondent No.4 to consider the representation (Annexure P5) and if necessary, to take further steps in accordance with law within a period of three weeks.

It is made clear that scope of the present order is only to deciding the representation (Annexure P5) in accordance with law and does not mean anything on the merits of the controversy between the petitioners and private respondents.

Disposed of accordingly.
