This is petitioner's second attempt for grant of regular bail in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 60 dated 07.05.2019, registered under Section 15, 18 and 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, at Police Station Jalandhar Cantt. 2.

As per the case of the prosecution, the petitioner was apprehended along with two other accused with 7 Kgs. of opium and 3 Kgs. of poppy husk. The first bail petition, filed by the petitioner, was dismissed on 05.10.2020.

The learned counsel representing the petitioner contends that the petitioner is suffering from a serious disease relating to kidney and therefore, he needs immediate medical attention. The alleged recovery from the petitioner falls in the category of commercial. No fresh ground to grant regular bail to the petitioner is made out. However, the Jail Superintendent is requested to ensure proper treatment of the petitioner.
