(Oral) The petitioners assail the order dated 21.11.2014 passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chandigarh Bench, whereby their claim for absorption on regular basis on successful completion of apprenticeship training has been turned down primarily on the ground that by the time the Tribunal was deciding their claim, they were in the age group of 50 and 49 years respectively, even when the maximum age limit for recruitment was 38 years after age relaxation. It may be true that the petitioners started their legal fight in the year 2003 when their writ petition was disposed of by this Court followed by their deployment on training under the orders of the Contempt Court in the year 2005. But thereafter, the petitioners slept over the matter and took no legal recourse for over five years knowing fully that the age was not in their side.

CWP No.9197 of 2016 [2] In these circumstances, the helpness shown by the Tribunal on account of the petitioners having become overage is fully justified. No case to interfere with the order passed by the Tribunal is made out.
