***** KARAMJIT SINGH , J. (Oral) Case has been heard through video conferencing on account of COVID-19 Pandemic.

The petitioner has filed this criminal writ petition seeking direction to respondents No.1 to 3 to protect life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondent No.4 who is his brother-in-law. The counsel for the petitioner has submitted that in this regard representation dated 26.10.2021 (Annexure P-3) was given to respondent No.2, but till date no action has been taken. Notice of motion.

( 2 ) CRWP-10294-2021 On the asking of the Court, Mr. Amit Mehta, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the State. The State counsel has no objection if necessary direction is given to the police authorities to consider the aforesaid representation of the petitioner as per law.

In view of above, without going into merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide representation dated 26.10.2021 (Annexure P-3) in accordance with law and to take appropriate action if so warranted.
