The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No. 2 & 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 11. 2.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Anmol Malik, DAG, Haryana, who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of State/respondents No.1 to 3.

At this stage, Mr. Rajesh Goyal, Advocate has put in appearance and filed his Vakalatnama on behalf of respondents No. 4 & 5 in Court today, which is taken on record and has stated that there is no threat from them to the petitioners and their only request is that the petitioners be directed to come back home.

Per contra, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that there is an apprehension to their life and liberty. 6.

Accordingly, the petitioners are directed to visit the house of respondents No. 4 & 5 on 14.08.2023, after informing respondent No.3Station House Officer, Police Station Karnal City, District Karnal, so that no untoward incident takes place.

In light of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. 8.

This order shall not operate as an alibi or defence to any proceedings which might be pending or may arise against the petitioners. Although, the State is duty bound to protect its citizens and only with the said motive, the present order/directions have been passed.
