Learned counsel for the State has filed status report by way of affidavit of Shri Ranjit Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dhar Kalan on behalf of respondent No.4. The same is taken on record. The petitioner has filed the petition for directing the respondents to stop unauthorized plying of vehicles in the area of village Madhopur under the railway line and thereafter, the vehicles coming on the wrong side of the road on National Highway -1A from Pathankot to Jammu for about 2 Kilometers. The same had been termed to be a traffic nuisance, besides, OMKAR SINGH 2016.07.19 15:35 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh
CWP No.9340 of 2016 [2] leading to traffic jams and loss of lives due to accidents. In terms of the affidavit that has been filed, it is stated that the passage, as stated by the petitioner, through which the vehicles come on wrong side of the highway, has been stopped and no traffic is being allowed to enter from the wrong side of the highway through the said passage. The District Administration, Pathankot has also considered the matter for a permanent solution of the problem of traffic coming on the wrong side of the road. The problem of traffic on wrong side of the road is now not there anymore. It is assured that the traffic will not be allowed to enter from the wrong side of the highway through the passage. It is also stated that the police personnels have been permanently deployed on the road from where the traffic from the wrong side used to come. Therefore, the grievance of the petitioner, it is submitted, has been redressed by stopping the wrong side entry of the vehicles.
In view of the affidavit, that has been filed, nothing survives in the present writ petition and same is accordingly disposed of. The respondents shall abide by their affidavit. ( S.S.SARON ) JUDGE ( LISA GILL ) July 15 , 2016.
