Through the present writ petition, the petitioner has sought issuance of directions to the competent authority for determination and release of the financial benefits, including pension, gratuity etc., payable to her consequent upon the death of her husband, namely Sh. Balwinder Singh.

Learned State counsel submits that the mother of the deceased Sh. Balwinder Singh, who is the petitioner's mother-in-law, has filed an application raising objections to the release of pensionary benefits in favour of the petitioner. It is further submitted that the petitioner has not yet furnished a legal heir certificate to the competent authority. Upon submission of the legal heir certificate by the petitioner, her claim shall be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the submissions made by learned State counsel, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction that, in the event the petitioner submits a representation seeking release of the benefits to DEVINDER YADAV 2026.01.16 14:00 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP-28788-2018 which she claims entitlement, along with the legal heir certificate, the competent authority shall consider and decide the same within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of such representation. 4.

Disposed of accordingly.
