The present petition has been filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction to the respondents to release the petitioner on parole for six weeks to provide better medical treatment to his old ailing mother.

At the asking of the Court, Mr. Manipal Singh Atwal, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and has no objection to the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner. 4.

In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioner and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to look into the representation of the petitioner dated 31.07.2023 (Annexure P-3) and decide the same expeditiously, in accordance with law.
