RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for directing respondents no.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of private respondents, who are giving threats to the petitioner and tried to attack him and for not harassing the petitioner on the pretext of any false criminal complaint, if any lodged by the private respondents. It is further prayed to issue direction to respondent No2 to decide the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.07.2024, Annexure P-1, as per law in a time bound manner. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that for protection of his life and liberty, the petitioner has already filed representation, Annexure P-1, before respondent No.2 but no action has been taken on the same till today.

Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent no.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Hoshiarpur, Punjab, to decide the representation (Annexure P-1) of the petitioner in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within one month from today and grant him protection, if any threat to his life and liberty is perceived. It is clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by them.
