The petitioner, who has not yet attained the age of majority, has instituted the instant criminal writ petition through her cousin, thereby seeking issuance of directions upon the respondents No.1 to 3, to ensure protection of her life and liberty at the hands of the respondents No.4 to 9, inasmuch as, they are pressurizing her to marry a person of their choice. 2.

This Court, while issuing notice on 06.08.2024, directed the learned State counsel to file a reply, detailing therein as to whether the threat, as alleged by the petitioner, genuinely exists or not. 3.

Today, the learned State counsel has, on instructions imparted to him by A.S.I. Sohan Das, informed this Court that the statements of the petitioner and her brother-in-law namely Manu Gupta have been recorded by the inquiry officer, wherein, they have clearly stated that as of today there is no danger to the petitioner and she does not DEVINDER YADAV 2024.08.23 09:11 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CRWP-7525-2024 require any personal security and gunman. The petitioner has also stated that she has got the contact number of the local police station and she would contact them in the event of any threat to her life and liberty. 4.

In view of the statement suffered by the petitioner and her brother-in-law Manu Gupta, no further order is required to be passed upon the instant petition at this stage. Therefore, the instant petition is closed. However, liberty is reserved to the petitioner to, in case, her parents pressurize her to perform marriage against her wish, and/or, she apprehends any danger to her life and liberty in future, approach the appropriate authority concerned for redressal of her grievance, whereupon, the authority concerned shall evaluate the alleged threat perception and take appropriate action as per law. 5.

Disposed of accordingly.
