Learned State counsel, on instructions from Sub Inspector Ashwani Kumar, Police Station Division-A, Amritsar, submits that the petitioner was arrayed as an accused in case bearing FIR No.243 dated 12.09.2020, registered under Sections 376 and 417 of the Indian Penal Code, at Police Station Division-A, Amritsar, however, a cancellation report was prepared therein, and the same has been accepted by the Judicial Magistrate, First Class, Amritsar, vide order dated 02.07.2025. A copy thereof is handed over by learned State counsel in Court today, which is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions. Relevant extract of order dated 02.07.2025 passed by the Judicial Magistrate, First Class, Amritsar, reads as under:- "CNR No.:PBAS030160942025 CASE No.:UCR-1713-2025 State of Punjab Vs. UNTRACED CANCELLATION Present: Sh. Ishandeep Singh, Ld. APP for the State Complainant in person.

Untraced report presented today. It be registered. Thereafter, complainant Priyanka suffered statement that case was registered on her complaint. She have no objection if the present untraced report filed by the police be accepted. She was duly identified by ASI Parminder singh No.899/ASR, posted at PS A Division, Amritsar.

In view of the statement suffered by the complainant, present untraced/cancellation report is accepted. Necessary intimation be sent to the quarter concerned. File be consigned to record-room after due compliance.

3.1 Learned State counsel further submits that the police verification report in respect of the petitioner would be sent to the concerned passport authorities within a period of three weeks from today.

Keeping in view the aforesaid stand taken by learned State counsel, the present writ petition is disposed of accordingly. 5.

It goes without saying that upon receipt of the police verification report in respect of the petitioner, the passport authorities shall consider and finally decide the petitioner's application for re-issuance of passport within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of such report, in accordance with law.

All the pending application(s), if any, shall also stand closed.
