Present writ petition has been filed for grant of interest at the rate of 18% per annum on delayed payment of retiral benefits given to the petitioner.
Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that petitioner superannuated on 29.02.2012 and he was paid his retiral benefits after unreasonable long delay of five years, though no proceedings were pending against him. Learned counsel further contended that for the redressal of his grievance, petitioner also got issued legal notice dated 22.09.2018 (Annexure P3), but still no action has been taken thereon. Notice of motion.
On asking of the Court, Mrs. Anju Arora, Additional Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
