**** ANOOP CHITKARA, J. (ORAL) Apprehending threat at the hands of the police officials and all other allegaƟons, the peƟƟoners had come up before this Court by filing the present protecƟon peƟƟon in September, 2022.

State counsel on instrucƟons submits that in fact Malkiat Singh husband of peƟƟoner No.1-Harpreet Kaur was a fugiƟve and wanted in non-bailable cognizable offence and for that purpose, the police was enquiring from the peƟƟoners. He further submits that now Malkiat Singh has been arrested and there is no reason for the police officials to visit their home. As concerned for the other allegaƟons, State counsel has expressed his inability to impart instrucƟons qua decision of Annexure P-8 which was the complaint dated 05.09.2022 allegedly filed by the peƟƟoners to respondent No. 4. 3.

Since the major grievance of protecƟon of threat to life, is already saƟsfied and is no more subsist, as such, no order is required to be passed qua protecƟon of life and liberty. However, Annexure P-8, which is sƟll pending, the concerned Senior Superintendent of Police to decide the same within two months, either himself/herself or by authorizing and delegaƟng it to any officer holding to Deputy Superintendent of Police or above rank. It is clarified that such order must be a reasoned order, and the same be communicated to counsel for the peƟƟoners and the representaƟonists without delay.
