In this writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner has prayed for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing/commanding the respondents to fill up 10 posts of Members in various District Consumer Forum in the State of Punjab, as mandated under Rule 12-A of the Consumer Protection Rules, 1987.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that certain events had taken place during the pendency of the present writ petition and thus, in view thereof, the writ petition has been rendered infructuous and the same may be disposed of as such.
