The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus for issuance of a direction to official to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners and for restraining the private respondents from interfering in their life.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner very fairly contends that the petitioner shall be satisfied at this stage if a direction is given to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Barnala, District Barnala to decide the representation dated 08.06.2026 (Annexure P-3) of the petitioner, in a time bound manner.

Ms. Amrit Kaur Mahir, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondent(s). However, she does not oppose the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner.
