The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking interest on the delayed release of the pensionary benefits. In Annexure P-1, it has been mentioned that even though the petitioner retired on 30.04.2017, but the retiral benefits were delayed ranging from three months to nine months and twelve days. Counsel for the petitioner states that in order to claim the said benefit, the petitioner has issued a legal notice dated 12.09.2018 to the Department, which according to the petitioner is pending consideration and the petitioner will be satisfied, if a direction is issued to the Competent Authority to decide the said legal notice, by passing a speaking order within the time frame.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the
