Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant service benefits i.e. General Provident Fund (GPF) (Old Pension Scheme) as applicable to all employees who joined service prior to 01.01.2004 along with all consequential benefits. It transpires that grievance raised by the petitioner through legal notice dated 23.01.2020 (P-11) is still pending for consideration before the appropriate authority.

In view of the above, without going into the merits of the controversy, this writ petition is disposed off with direction to respondent No.2-Director of Education Department, Punjab, (Secondary Education) Mohali, to consider and decide the aforesaid legal notice dated 23.01.2020 (P-11) in accordance with law by passing speaking order preferably within a period of 04 (four) weeks from the receipt of certified copy of this order.
