* "" 1 The prayer in the present petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner.
None appears on behalf of the petitioner.
The learned counsel for the State submits that, in fact, the petitioner was married to one Priyanka Kumari Choudhary, who, after her marriage, started living with her friend Deepak, resident of DLF Phase-2, Gurugram. In the meantime, respondent No.5-Sunita Devi (mother of Priyanka Kumari Choudhary) got registered FIR No.0330 dated 14.08.2022 under Section 346 IPC at Police Station Sector 9-A, Gurugram against the petitioner-Veer Rana. He contends that on 01.09.2022, the wife of the petitioner-Priyanka Kumari Choudhary was recovered by the police and her statement under Section 164 Cr.P.C. was recorded, wherein she stated that on being annoyed with her parents, she had gone to reside with her friendDeepak in the same building as Deepak and now she has come back to her parental home and is residing with her parents.
