Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to re-fix the pension of the petitioners by granting annual increment to them for the services rendered by them in the preceding one year from the respective date of their retirement.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, at the very outset, confines his prayer for deciding legal notice dated 17.05.2024 (Annexure P-6). He submits that at this stage, petitioners would be satisfied, if the said legal notice is decided by passing a speaking order within a time bound frame.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to decide legal notice dated 17.05.2024 (Annexure P-6), submitted by the petitioners expeditiously by passing a speaking order, preferably within a period of 03 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
