Mr. Amrik Singh, Advocate for the petitioners. *** ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) The grievance of the petitioners, who are stated to be working as Junior Engineers in the Department of Irrigation, is that they have not been given the benefit of the same pay scales as has been accorded to the counterparts who are working as Junior Engineers in the Department of Soil Conservation, Government of Punjab. In the premise, the petitioners have been verbally representing to the Department from time to time and failing in their attempts of any favourable response, they have also caused a legal notice dated 10.4.2019 (Annexure P-8), but the same has also not been adverted by the respondents. Hence, the present writ petition. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the case of the petitioners is squarely covered by the judgment dated 2.7.2014 (Annexure P-7) rendered by a Coordinate Bench of this Court and also affirmed in an intra court appeal vide judgment dated 29.7.2019 contained at Annexure P9. On advance service of copy of the petition, Ms. Anu Chatrath, Senior Advocate with Ms. Ambika Bedi, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, appears and accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 5.
Given the nature of order being passed, there is no necessity to seek return by any of the respondents as no further proceedings and/or pleadings are required.

Without commenting on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to objectively consider the legal notice dated 10.4.2019 (Annexure P-8) and also by keeping in view the contentions stated in this petition by treating it as a supplementary representation and pass a speaking order, in accordance with law.

Let the needful be done within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 8.
