***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of a direction for protection of his life as he apprehends threat to the same while being confined in jail itself.

I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. The petitioner is stated to be presently lodged in Model Jail, Burail, Union Territory, Chandigarh as an under trial in respect of a case registered vide FIR No.308 dated 26.12.2018 at Police Station Sarangpur, Union Territory, Chandigarh under Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of Indian Penal Code. It is alleged that the petitioner apprehends threat to his life in the jail as he being a Muslim had solemnized an intercaste marriage with a Hindu girl against the wishes of her family.
